Horizon View 7.0 – Part 10 – Create Master Template

To do desktop publishing, We need to create master template for the automated desktop pool.

For my lab environment I have deployed an Windows 10 machine. It is recommended to enable HotAdd for CPU and RAM and also remove unwanted adapters like Floppy.

Download the OS Optimization Tool from VMware Flings. This tool greatly helps in optimizing the OS by disabling unwanted features.

Launch the application and click Optimize.

After it is done, start the installation of the View Agent.

Accept the license and click Next.

Slect IPv4 and click Next.

Select the required components. Make sure you enable Instant Clone instead of View Composer.

Select Enable the Remote Desktop capability on this computer.

Click Install.

Once the installation is done, click Finish.

Reboot the Machine.

Shutdown the machine and convert it to a template.

Now the master template is ready.
