December 1, 2017VMware SRM 6.x – Part 7 – Configuring Replication for a VM
In our previous post we configured the vSphere Replication Appliance and the Replication Servers. In this post we’ll be discussing how to replicate a VM from the local site to the remote site.
To test our replication, I have deployed a Windows 7 VM in my protected site.
Right-Click the VM -> All vSphere Replication Actions -> Configure Replication.
Select Replicate to a vCenter Server and click Next.
Select the Recovery Site and click Next.
You can select the Replication Server or select Auto-assign vSphere Replication Server.
Select the Target Datastore.
Select the appropriate Replication options.
Set an RPO (Time Interval between the replications)
Click Finish.
You can see the Replication status in the summary of the VM.
Goto vCenter Inventory -> Monitor -> vSphere Replication -> Outgoing Replications.
Select the VM and you can see the Replication status.
Note: On Site B, you’ll see the Incoming Replications.
Wait for the Replication to complete.
