March 3, 2018VMware SRM 6.x – Part 11 – Running Test Recovery
We have installed and configured the VMware Site Recovery Manager but its very important to test it to make sure everything is configured correctly.
To test our recovery, Click the Test Recovery Plan in the Recovery steps of the DR Plan.
In the Test confirmation window, verify all the settings and click Next.
Click Finish.
The recovery process will start.
You could see the VM Powered on at the DR site.
If it is Powered-on, it means that all your settings are valid and your Recovery is working fine. If not, Troubleshoot :).
Cleanup
When we tested the recovery, the SRM Server would Power-Off the VM on the Protected site and Power-On it on the Recovery Site.
Now, we need to do an cleanup to move the VM back to the Protected Site. To do so, click the Cleanup Recovery Plan option on the Recovery steps of the DR Plan.
In the Cleanup confirmation window, click Next.
Click Finish to finish our SRM configuration. The protected VM gets Power-On again at the Protected site.
