The Security Server allows the users to connect to their environment which is an internal network from the internet. This component is optional if you are going to access VDI only with internal network and not over external network.
Login to the Connection Server and goto Servers -> Connection Servers -> More commands -> Specify Security Server Pairing Password.
Give a password and click OK.
Now open the Server which is designated for the Security Server.
Start the installation of Connection Server.
In the Welcome Wizard, click Next.
Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
Select the Destination folder for the installation and click Next.
Select the installation type as Security Server.
Enter the FQDN or IP of the Connection Server.
Enter the pairing password which you created in the Connection Server.
It is your wish to help VMware Improve.
This is the most important screen. You need to inter the URL in which you wish to access the VDI environment. It has to be Public IP or Domain if you are going to access it over the internet.
Select Configure Windows Firewall automatically. This option will automatically open the required ports for the connection server. Click Next.
Review the Summary and click Install.
Wait for the installation to complete. It may take some minutes.
Once the installation is done, click Finish.
Now the Security Server will be seen in the View Dashboard.
